"Massive", program for teens in Intermediate and High school

"Now we are Talking", good discussions for teens and young adults

Massive :

The programs run on Friday evenings during term time and are coordinated at the "old church".
We have the use of a hall, lounge and kitchen.
Our aim is to provide a safe and fun filled Christian environment for the youth in Taradale and surrounding areas.
We teach the word of Jesus. The Christian faith assists our youth in making good choices.
We are alcohol, drug and smoke free!

You don't have to be Christian to participate in our activities.

"Now we are Talking"

Discussion program for the more mature teenager and young adult (Min age 15).

We meet on Monday evenings from 7.00 - 9.00 pm in the "old church" during term time.
Brian, Katrina and Wim are the hosts.

What do we do?

We usually split the evening in two parts;

Part 1 is faith based and we study and discuss some part of the bible or related topic.

Part 2 is where we discuss any topic under the teenage sun (dating, divorce, stress, loneliness, violence etc).

We usually finish off with prayer and some hang out time.

What are we trying to achieve?

1. To create a close-knit group where the teenager feels safe to discuss anything close to the heart. A group of friends who share opinions, feelings and expectations in a non-judgemental environment.We are committed to help the youth discover themselves. We would like to cheer them on in that process of "growing up", we want to support them when times are tough; we want to be a ‘safe" person for them to talk to; we want to be tender, yet truthful when correction is needed. We want to "walk the talk" where our faith is concerned.

2. To teach the importance of the Christian faith in today's world.

3. To help our youth with making choices that effect their future.
