Our philosophy

To let the kids have fun and enjoy themselves during the holidays whilst the caregivers are at work.

The children are usually split into two groups, a junior group for ages 5 - 8 years and a senior group for children aged 9 - 13 years. We choose and follow a theme, incorporate on three mornings Christian teaching into the activities (arts, crafts, play and discussions) and include a couple of trip days per week to local attractions. We make sure we adhere to the correct "staff to pupil" ratios and expose our staff to Risk Assessment meetings before the start of the programme.

What are the dates for the coming Holiday Programmes?

  • 14/12/17 to 22/12/17 and 8/01/18 to 27/2/18 (December/January holidays) - 7:30am to 5:30pm weekdays

Where do you run these programmes?

We run our holiday programmes four times a year from the "old church" premises tucked neatly at the back of St Columba's Church, 176 Gloucester street, Taradale. The "old church" was built in 1866 and has moved quite a few times during its lifetime. It is now the centre of all our youth activities and consists of a large hall with adjacent lounge and kitchen. The lounge is equipped with a projector and audio facilities. At the back we have a playground with climbing equipment, sandpit and a workbench. The part of the holiday programme that is "home-based" is run from here and we often incorporate the wider church buildings into the mix. Two days of every week are spent "off-site" when we are visiting local places of interest.
